WESWATC Walk At KILVE, near Bridgwater, Somerset on Sunday 1st June 2014

This is an interesting area of Somerset at the northern end of the Quantocks and next to the Bristol Channel, about 12 miles from Bridgwater and easy access from J23 or J24.
Meet at 1 pm for 1.30 pm start at Kilve Beach Car Park.

Distance 4 miles.

Optional finish at the Chantry Tea Rooms which are near by.

The walk will include part of the coastal footpath, tracks near or through woods and will pass East Quantoxhead village with its Mill Pond and Church.  It is a fairly level walk with some gently undulating areas on well used paths.  Dogs should be able to run free, subject to any grazing animals.  Dogs must be kept on leads if there are any livestock and also when we go along the coastal path as there is a drop to the beach!

Directions  If approaching from the M5 come off at either J23 or J24 and follow the signs for Minehead along the A39.  Keep on the A39  until you reach the traffic lights at Nether Stowey, then through Holford village and about 2 miles  further on,  after a sharp left hand bend you will approach the village of Kilve.  You will see “The Hood Arms” and a small shop on the right and immediately before, take the right turn signed Kilve Beach.  Continue on down, past the white Church on the left and the entrance to the Chantry Tea Rooms and the road finishes at a Car Park.  The Sat Nav postcode is TA5 1EG.
